What is a User Code?

A four-letter/number code is necessary to login to take the test. You also need it to return to your test results.  It is not case-sensitive; you can use either lower- or upper-case letters.


 
Where do I get a User Code?

  1. You receive one when you pay to take the Career Key test, or
  2. You receive one from a person or organization (e.g,. school, college, career center) that purchased multiple tests through our group purchase program.

If you purchase a test, you receive a User Code twice from our payment vendor SWREG:

  1. On the screen confirming your payment, and
  2. In an email SWREG sends to you.


 
After getting a User Code, how do I take the test?

Click on “Login” at the top of the home page, then, you will be prompted to enter your User Code.

If you are using a code purchased by a group, you will be further prompted to enter a User Name and Password. This User Name and Password will be unique to you and only known by you. If you lose them, we cannot retrieve them for you so write them down.


 
How do I return to the summary page showing the test results and occupations I identified?

Click on “Login” at the top of the home page, then you will be prompted to enter your User Code.

If you are using a code purchased by a group, you will be further prompted to enter a User Name and Password.  You will automatically be sent to the page where you last ended your test session.


 
Who has access to my Career Key results?

You or anyone to whom you give your User Name and Password. Please see Career Key's privacy statement


 
How do I make a group purchase of multiple test-takings?

My organization made a group purchase prior to December 3, 2007.  Will my test-takers who took the test prior to December 3 be able to access their Career Key results?

No, only people taking the test after December 1 will be able to access their test history. As a rule, only users who were able to select a User Name and Password will be able to access their test history.


 
Who is SWREG?

SWREG is Career Key's online payment vendor. They operate our purchase process both online and over the telephone.


 
Troubleshooting

My User Code does not work.

User Codes expire 90 days after you take the test, or where applicable, 12 months after your group purchased the code – whichever comes first. If these scenarios do not apply to you, email product support with your order number (U[number]) or email address used to purchase the test.

I never received an email from the payment vendor SWREG with my User Code.

Check your email filters to make sure the SWREG email was not mistakenly filtered out.

If you use PayPal and give SWREG a different email address than the one you have on file with PayPal, you will not receive your SWREG email.

Email product support with your order number (U[number]) or email address used to purchase the test.

I received an email from SWREG saying that my order could not be processed.

SWREG handles our purchasing process.  If your credit card is expired or you do not provide up to date contact information, your order will not be processed unless you contact SWREG to make other arrangements.

I lost my User Code.

Email product support with your order number (U[number]) or email address used to purchase the test.

I lost my User Name and/or Password.

At this time, Career Key does not provide support for lost user names or passwords. You will need to retake the test.

I was stopped from completing the test, either I received an error or my browser unexpectedly closed.

Check to make sure your browser preferences have checked “Javascript enabled.”

Login using the link on our home page and entering your User Code. You may be prompted to enter a User Name and Password. You will automatically be returned to the place in the test where you left off.

I purchased a test prior to December 1, 2007 that provided me a link to take the test, which no longer works. What should I do?

Email product support with your order number (U[number]) or email address used to purchase the test and we will provide you a User Code to take the test.

How do I download an ePublication I purchase?

When you receive your payment confirmation screen from our payment vendor SWREG, you will receive a link to click on to download your ePublication. You will also receive an email from SWREG containing the link.

What do I do if I cannot download an ePublication?

Email product support with your order number (U[number]) or email address used to purchase the ePublication and we will provide it to you via email.
